conversation (in the woods)

visual art

Conversation (in the woods) is a humorous reflection on Romanticism and one of its topics: the human being alone in nature. Like a man walking in a forest, for instance.

The lonely walker of Conversation (in the woods) reflects on his fate. We observe him. He seems to have been there for a long time, in that mysterious place. In a forest where the horizon narrows and a man is supposed to meet himself. Silence. It is then that he starts talking with his only interlocutor.

Conversation (in the woods) was originally created for the festival LISA Live(s) in Theater Kikker (Utrecht) in december 2009, as an artistic response to Les Sylphides by Nicole Beutler.
